Pedorthics

Pedorthics is the management and treatment of conditions of the foot, ankle, and lower extremities requiring fitting, fabricating, and adjusting of pedorthic devices. Pedorthics uses footwear to help ease and treat these foot-related problems.
There are many conditions that a Canadian Certified Pedorthist may be able to help with, including but not limited to:
• Osteoarthritis
• Sever's disease
• Plantar fasciitis
• Patellofemoral pain
• Posterior tibialis tendon dysfunction
• Diabetes (neuropathies, education, offloading, amputations, etc.)
• Leg length differences
• Shin splints
• Hammertoes, claw toes, mallet toes
• Bunions
• Metatarsalgia (forefoot pain)
• Bone spurs
• Osgood-Schlatters disease
• Hip pain
• Low back pain
• Excessive corns and callusing
• Hyperpronation or hypersupination
Many extended health care plans will cover a portion of custom made orthotics with a written referral from your family physician. If you have insurance coverage, please check your policy details to understand what services your policy covers. You are responsible to make inquiries with your insurance company to confirm the details of your coverage. You are also responsible to submit your invoices to your insurance company to process your claims.
