Tori Hamilton is a Registered Nurse, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, La Leche League Leader, and mom of three little ones.
Tori graduated from the University of Western Ontario with Honours in Nursing in 2011. Between having children, she specialised in obstetrical nursing, working in a rural hospital on a floor that encompasses med/surg, obstetrics and palliative care.
In May 2015 after the birth of her second child and encountering many breastfeeding and parenting challenges, she founded The Mama Nurse to help other moms who feel alone during their day-to-day struggles. Experiencing these parenting difficulties and helping countless moms propelled Tori to become a LLL Leader and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
Becoming an IBCLC is the highest certification for lactation consultants, and requires that Tori has over 1000 hours of specialised breastfeeding experience, 120 hours of lactation education from Mohawk College, and passed a rigorous 4 hour exam. Those who are IBCLC are required to re-certify every 5 years to ensure that they maintain competency.
